Overview<\/strong><\/h2>

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is a significant legislative change in European data protection laws the EU Parliament passed April of 2016. The GDPR became enforceable on May 25, 2018, and it strengthens the security and protection of personal data in the EU and serves as a single piece of legislation for all the EU. The regulation is designed to harmonize data privacy laws across EU, to protect and enable all EU citizens data privacy and to restructure the way organizations across the region approach data privacy.<\/p>

VelociHOST supports the GDPR and all VelociHOST services comply with its provisions. We have applied these changes to bring our policy
in line with the European law, General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).<\/p>

We will continue to provide a transparent and secure handling of personal data as one of our more important commitments towards our clients\u2019

Are VelociHOST services GDPR compliant?<\/b><\/p>

VelociHOST is committed to transparent and secure handling of all personal data on our network. Our processes have gone through an extensive procedural, administrative and technical review to ensure we fully meet the requirements set forth in the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) legislation.<\/p>

What is VelociHOST\u2019s role under GDPR?<\/b><\/p>

VelociHOST acts as both a data controller and a data processor. VelociHOST acts as a data controller for customer information that we collect to process payments and provide customer support. When a customer uses our services to process personal data, VelociHOST acts as a data processor. This customer information includes things such as customer name and contact information.<\/p>

What have VelociHOST done to comply with GDPR?<\/b><\/p>

We conducted a thorough review of our operations to ensure compliance with the requirements of the GDPR. We reviewed our products and services, customer terms, and privacy notices.<\/p>

What personal data do we collect and store from our customers?<\/b><\/p>

We store data that customers have given us voluntarily. For example, in our role as data controller, we may collect and store contact information, such as name, email address, phone number, or physical address, when customers sign up for our products and services or ask for support help. We also may collect other identifying information from our customers, such as IP address, Paypal ID, or Oauth tokens for external services.<\/p>

Additionally, we act as a data processor only when customers use our products and services to process EU personal data, such as uploading personal data to a VPS or Dedicated (Bare Metal) Server. Customers decide what personal data, if any, is uploaded to our products and services.<\/p>

What is the VelociHOST Data Processing Agreement\u00a0<\/b>(\u00abDPA\u00bb)?<\/b><\/p>

Customers that handle EU personal data are required to comply with the privacy and security requirements under the GDPR. As part of this, they must ensure that the vendors they use to process the EU personal data also have privacy and security protections in place. Our DPA defines the privacy and security protections we have in place. We are committed to GDPR compliance and to helping our customers comply with the GDPR when they use our services. We have therefore made our DPA available to all our customers and it can be found here: Data Processing Agreement<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>

Are customers required to sign the VelociHOST DPA?<\/b><\/p>

In order to use our products and services, you need to accept our DPA, which we have provided a link to on our website: Data Processing Agreement<\/span><\/a>. By agreeing to our terms of service, you are automatically accepting our DPA and do not need to sign a separate document.<\/p>

Are there special DPA needs for individual countries?<\/b><\/p>

The GDPR applies to all the EU and we offer a DPA that is compliant in all EU countries.<\/p>

How do we process delete of personal data instructions from customers?<\/b><\/p>

Customers have the right to request access to and obtain a copy of any of their personal data. Additionally, customers can see and update most of this data online from our Client Area Portal<\/a><\/span>, or by contacting us directly at https:\/\/www.velocihost.net\/contact-us\/<\/a>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>
